OTC CV World Series #4

OTC-CV Thursday World Series Meet

Thursday May 2^nd, marked the beginning of the OTC-CV World Series of meets. The weather was 85 degrees and the competition was hot. In the pole vault Tori Pena who competes for Ireland set a seasonal best and achieved the 8^th best mark in the world jumping 4.45m. In the men’s vault Nick Mossberg achieved the 10^th best mark in the world wining with a mark of 5.60m. 

In the long jump it marked the season debut of resident athlete Lex Gillette. Lex the reigning bronze medalist from the London Paralympics competed head to head with the Olympic Long Jump Champion Greg Rutherford. Lex produced a seasonal best mark of 6.65m. The action started in the third round when resident long jumper Ronnie Taylor jumped 7.96m to PR. But the Olympic champion responded with a jump of 8.06m. In the competition it was also the season long jump debut for Markeith Price. He jumped 6.26m to place right behind teammate Lex Gillette.
